Wike Describes Infrastructure Delivery In FCT As “Governance In Action”

News Investigators/ Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described the delivery of infrastructure projects in the FCT as “clear demonstration of governance in action.”

He stated this in Abuja on Wednesday after an inspection tour of project sites in Karu, Apo-Karshi and the Gbazango area of Kubwa.

The minister, who expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of ongoing road projects across the capital, commended contractors for maintaining high standards while sticking to strict delivery timelines.

He commended the contractor executing the Karu township road for impressive performance, noting that “the firm’s track record, including the Ushafa Road inaugurated in 2025, justified the administration’s trust in indigenous capacity.

“We are very satisfied with the level of work and the quality at Karu. I’m quite impressed and it is one of the roads that will be inaugurated during the third-year anniversary of Mr President.”

On the long-awaited Apo to Karshi Road, the minister assured residents that the contractor would complete the project before the end of the year.

For Gbazango, popularly known as Arab Road in Kubwa, the minister
also praised the contractor’s efficiency, along with the Gomani to Yangoji road, also
slated for inauguration to celebrate President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary.

Wike said that the inspection, marked by spontaneous cheers from local residents, validated the impact of the FCT Administration’s efforts.

“You can see how happy the residents here are. Without an invitation, they took time to really appreciate that they can see governance in action,” he said.

He emphasised that the administration’s priorities are excellence and speed, ensuring that road projects are in tandem with engineering benchmarks and deadlines.

“One thing is doing a quality job, and another thing is keeping to the timeline.

“I assure you that the FCT will soon witness a flurry of inaugurations to celebrate the administration’s milestones,” he added.
