News Investigators/ Director of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Wang Yi, met with Evan Greenberg, Executive Vice Chair of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, on Wednesday.
Mr. Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, lauded Mr. Greenberg’s long-term commitment to promoting China-U.S. communication and cooperation.
He expressed hope that the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, along with people of insight from various sectors in the U.S., would contribute to the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.
Mr. Wang emphasised that China and the U.S. share extensive interests and cooperation potential that could benefit both countries and the world.
He urged both sides to follow the important consensus and vision shared by the two heads of state, enhance communication, deepen mutual understanding, avoid misjudgements, and manage differences.
Mr. Wang added that China was willing to engage in dialogue with the U.S. based on equality and mutual respect to address legitimate concerns.
Mr. Greenberg agreed, stating that the U.S.-China relationship was the most significant bilateral relationship globally.
He called for both sides to use their experience and wisdom to foster understanding, expand cooperation, and coexist harmoniously, particularly in a world facing increasing risks and uncertainties.
Mr. Greenberg stressed the need for intensified engagement to fulfil the vision of the two heads of state and achieve peace and prosperity for both nations.(RIA/NAN)
