Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah has suspended his 51st birthday celebration over the lingering insecurity in Anambra state.
Ubah is representing Anambra South Senatorial Zone at the National Assembly.
He appealed to his family, supporters, well wishers and friends to use the occasion of his birthday on Sept. 3 to pray for him and Anambra state.
“As we draw closer to my 51st birthday anniversary, I wish to register my appreciation and convey my heartfelt gratitude to you all once again for your support and steadfastness in the course of my journey so far.
“Sept. 3, 2022 is my 51st birthday anniversary and as we look forward to that day, it is with the deepest sense of responsibility that I humbly implore my family, friends, well wishers and supporters to commemorate my 51st birthday by saying a prayer for me and our beloved State, Anambra , due to the security challenges ravaging the state.
“My decision to opt for a very quiet and reflective birthday anniversary has become exigent given the prevailing mood of the state which does not call for celebration but a moment of solemn reflections and prayers.
“I will also want to use this period of reflection to pay respect to those who in one way or the other have fallen victim or lost beloved members of their family and friends to the insecurity.
“Birthdays are great opportunities for not only celebration but also reflection. While appreciating my family, friends and well wishers for their good intentions and elaborate celebration plans, it is pertinent to state that my 51st birthday celebration would be devoid of any fanfare or celebration. I am therefore requesting for a very quiet, reflective and prayerful anniversary.
“I commend and partner with the Anambra State Government in their proactive efforts to curb the security menace. We must not let the crippling fear that has gained momentum as a result of the security challenges make us lose hope.
“Let us Keep praying for Anambra State and keep trusting in God while supporting the State Government. In the end, we shall overcome,” Ubah said.
The senator who gave God all the glory, prayed for better years ahead in the service of the Almighty God and humanity.
Meanwhile Gov.Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated Ubah on his birthday anniversary.
Soludo said: “As you add another year today, it is my earnest prayer for God to grant you the strength and good health in the service to the people and the state.”
The governor, therefore, joined Ubah’s family, friends and well-wishers to celebrate and wish him a pleasant birthday celebration and many eventful years ahead.
