Sambisa Forest: Troops Rescue Another 234 Women, Children -Defence Hqrts

The defence authorities Friday evening announced the rescue of yet another sets of women and children held in captive by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Defence headquarters in its twitter handle @DefenceInfoNG posted few minutes agao said, “another set of 234 women and children were rescued through the Kawuri and Konduga end of the Sambisa forest on Thursday.”

The identity of the rescued are still unknown. Earlier in the week, the military rescued 293 women and children in the notorious Sambisa forest haven of the Boko Haram insurgents.

Defence spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade, on Thursday said the rescued persons are have been taken to a conducive location where they are being profiled in order to ascertain their identity.

He however could not ascertain yet if any of the rescued are among the abducted Chibok school girls.
