News Investigators/ A Kano-based traditional medicine vendor, Usman Abdullahi, has cautioned traditional medicine users against engaging in self-medication.
Mr. Abdullahi gave the caution in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Tuesday.
He described the situation where people make use of traditional medicines in self-made proportions, without prescription or guidance from vendors, as unfortunate.
According to him, every kind of medicine must be taken in moderate prescription, especially traditional ones that are mostly obtained from raw herbs.
Mr. Abdullahi stated that most traditional medicines, particularly when taken without prescription, usually resulted in lifetime adverse reactions.
He, therefore, appealed to fellow medicine vendors to safeguard the health of their clients by ensuring proper guidance of their products.
