Barely few hours after a second non-violence pact was signed by the President Goodluck Jonathan of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressive Congress, the two leading candidates in the presidential elecyion scheduled for Saturday, PDP Secretariat located in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State has been razed down by some thugs, the party’s Public Relations officer has said.

Speaking with newsmen Thursday, the party’s PRO in Kano, Musa Danbirni revealed that the thugs had attacked the secretariat and set the building ablaze including vehicles adding that the happening is coming on the heel of a rally which was held by the member representing Bichi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Lawan Shehu and also the decamping of one Barrister Zainab Usman to the party.

The PRO said the thugs must have been intimidated and infuriated by the level of success achieved by the ruling People Democratic Party.

“My understanding of the situation is the APC is sensing defeat in the area, the only thing they can do to hurt the party is by way of orchestrating the dastardly action” he added

He also noted that such act will only strengthen the party’s popularity and morale, as PDP cannot be cowered into laxing its struggle to victory.

In his words, “we will never on any way be weakening in our resolve to win all the elections. No amount of sabotage could ever deter our struggle to actualize our mission “he added.

Kano state Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majiya who confirmed the incident said investigations were still on to get to the root of it and find out the culprits.
