There is tension in Abuja as soldiers of the Guards Brigade battle an invading band of terrorists at Zuma Rock, Madalla, Kaduna Road.
The Network gathered that the terrorists attacked a soldiers checkpoint, four poles away from Madallah at a location called Guaraka.
The Network could not confirm casualty in the brutal attack.
A residence told the Network that the terrorists took over the road and forced motorists to abandon their cars for safety.
However, the source said soldiers moved in gallantly and early enough to engage them and cleared the road after fierce exchange of gunfire.
It was gathered that the soldiers blocked a part of the Kaduna-Abuja Road at Arab junction to prevent motorists from driving into the battle zone.
The source said that most residents of Guaraka are traumatized and can not sleep because of the sound of gunfire tearing into the darkness of the night.
The stack was said to have started around 8pm and stopped around 10 pm.
The source, “The terrorists have been shooting and engaging soldiers since 8pm. We have all been advised to wear black on black so that in case they come, we go into the bush. What else can we do. We are deeply traumatized.
“They attacked the military checkpoint after Madallah close to Zuma Rock.
People abandoned their cars and fled.
Thank God that soldiers came and the road they blocked has been open.
“We cannot sleep at all. It is a heavy military operation going on.”
