By Dipo Awojobi – The election of two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators in Anambra state, Stella Oduah and Andy Uba, has been nullified by the Supreme Court.

They duo were sacked by the court in a ruling delivered today, January 29.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared them winners after the senatorial election held last year.
With the latest rulings, PDP no longer has any senator from Anambra state.
The ruling may have given way to new set of senators for Anambra in the Senate namely: Chris Ubah (Anambra South), John Emeka (Anambra North) and Annie Okonkwo (Anambra Central).
Oduah was a former aviation minister while Mr Uba, a second term senator who is currently the chairman senate committee on public account, was a former special adviser to former president, Olusegun Obasanjo on Domestic Affairs.
On December 7, the Court of Appeal in Enugu nullified the election of Uche Ekwunife, as the senator representing Anambra central senatorial district and ordered a fresh election within 90 days.
After her sack, Ekwunife defected to the All Progressives Congress.
