Supreme Court Judgement: Prayers Can Move Mountains Says Bindow

By Dan Garba – The Governor of Adamawa state, Senator Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow said weekend in Yola that it is the prayers of Adamawa people that made Supreme Court to dismiss the legal battle over governorship seat in the state.

The set time of 16th December case appeal by Former Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa state, seeking to complete his remaining 8 months in office that was aborted by an impeachment in 2014 pronounced elapsed by the court.

The elated governor who was reacting to his victory at the Supreme Court, reiterated that there is nothing prayers cannot do, saying “prayers can move mountains” and is a success to all Adamawa people.

He promised to work for the general interest of the people of Adamawa state whose mandate he won to become the Governor of the State.

“I and my Deputy Governor, Engr Marthins Babale will join hands to make sure that every body feel the impact of our government.” Bindow said.

A crowd of supporters were in the airport to welcome him, to show their solidarity for him.

Bindow who spoke with journalists at his residence in Yola, said he now knows assuredly that God wanted him to work for the people of Adamawa State.

Bindow who would have been out of office if the Court case between Nyako of the former House Assembly in state that impeached him, had ruled in favour of Nyako.

On his part the erstwhile Governor, Murtala Nyako through a telephone chart with a local radio in Yola thank the people of Adamawa for their support through out the “period of trials.”

“Alhamdulila! Alhamdullila!! I thank God and I thank you for all your support and solidarity you have been given me, I leave things to God and His will to turn the case this way,” he said.
