Sule Presents N382.57bn 2025 Budget To Nasarawa Assembly

News Investigators/ Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has  presented N382.57billion Appropriation bill for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for approval.

Sule presented the Appropriation bill christened: “Budget of Economic Growth and Stability” before the legislature on Friday in Lafia.

According to the governor, N159.97 billion representing 41.82 per cent is for recurrent expenditure and N222.60 billion representing 58.18 per cent is for capital expenditure.

The governor said that the sum of N80.14 billion had been earmarked for the Administrative sector, N139.84 billion for the Economic sector, Law and Justice sector, N10.61billion, while the Social sector would get N151.97 billion.

He said that the 2025 budget was geared towards improving improving education, expanding infrastructure, agriculture, health, security and technology sub-sectors.

“The allocations to the sub-sectors are as follows: Education, Science & ICT, N78.16billion, Infrastructure, N71.70billion,

Governance, Security &

General Administration, N50.75billion, Health, N36.20 billion,

Agriculture & Water Resource, N36.07billion, and Environment- N27.02billion.

“Others are Finance, Investment and

Trade, N26.11billion, Information and  Tourism, N19.36 billion,

Law and Justice N10.61 billion

Legislation, N10.03 billion.

Youth and  Sports

Development, N9.77 billion,

Humanitarian and Women Empowerment, N6.40 billion,” Sule said.

The said that the 2025 budget, when passed would enable his administration to consolidate on the gains recorded in education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, peace and security among others.

“I am happy to inform you that government is ready to implement the new minimum wage in order to meet up with the current economic reality.

“As I speak, government is awaiting the submission of the report of the Minimum Wage Committee under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, the Deputy Governor.

” I assure you that as soon as the report is submitted, government will not waste time in the implementation of the recommendation of the Committee for the benefit of our workers.

“To underscore this commitment, adequate provision have been made in the budget which I shall lay before you today,” he said.

He commended the Speaker and members of the state Assembly for always giving attention to appropriation bill.

He assured of full implementation of the budget when finally passed into law.

Receiving the budget, Mr Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the House, gave assurances for the expeditious  passage of the Appropriation bill.

“The 7th Assembly under my watch will ensure that we give all the needed support to the state government to execute all its policies and programmes without hindrance so that our people will get the much needed democracy dividends,” he said.

Jatau charged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) of government to work assiduously and always live up to expectations by complying with provision of the Budget.

He commended Gov Sule for revolutionising Internally Generated Revenue sector in the state.

” Under your watch, Nasarawa attained the enviable status of being in the league of the few states that are recording impressive yearly IGR figures across the federation,” he said

The speaker also lauded the state government’s effort  in the solid minerals exploration, which he said, had put Nasarawa State on the world map and attracted investors.

” Furthermore, let me use this avenue to once again acknowledge your security efforts in the state.

“Although we might not be able to get it completely, I make bold to say that Nasarawa is one of the peaceful states in the country. It is my hope that you will keep the flag flying,” he said.
