The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta, is dead. The senator died early today at the age of 65 after a brief illness.
Before his untimely death, he was the chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Character & Inter- Governmental Affairs. Kuta, who was first elected into the senate in 2007, was a vocal member of the red chamber who made useful contributions to legislative work at the National Assembly.
