News Investigators/ A 33-year-old man, Salisu Adamu, on Wednesday appeared before a Kaduna Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two tricycles valued at N3.8 million.
Mr Adamu, who resides at Kawo area of Kaduna, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, informed the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offences sometime in December 2024.
Leo alleged that the defendant, who was employed as a security guard at Jibrin Motors located in Kaduna, conspired with others still at large and stole two tricycles worth N3.8 million.
He said the offences contravened the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and must show evidence of tax payments to the Kaduna State Government as part of the bail conditions.
Mr Emmanuel adjourned the case until Feb. 4 for hearing.
