By Sadiq Umar – President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has confirmed the receipt of President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter notifying the Senate of his return and resumption to work.
Earlier on Monday, Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina in a statement, made public Mr. Buhari’s letter to the National Assembly informing them of his return to duty, shortly after a nationwide broadcast.
“In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), I write to intimate that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, 21st August 2017, after my medical follow-up in the United Kingdom,” Mr. Buhari had stated.
In a statement released on the official Twitter account of the Senate President, @SPNigeria on Monday, Mr. Saraki confirmed the receipt of the letter, adding that he had also acknowledged the receipt of the said letter.
“@BukolaSaraki has received a letter from @NGRPresident @MBuhari informing @NGRSenate that he has returned to the country. I have also acknowledged the letter,” he added.
