RESIGNATION: ATIKU COMMENDS TANKO FOR DECISION

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, and the former Vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has showered encomiums on the former Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Tanko Muhammad.

He thanked the former CJN for his service to the country.

Reacting to the development in his Twitter handle, @Atiku said “the decision of Justice Tanko Muhammad to vacate office as the Chief Justice of Nigeria is commendable.”

The PDP presidential candidate wished and thanked the retired CJN for his service to the nation, adding that his resignation was a good action.

” I wish him well, even as I commend him for his action and service to the nation.” He twitted.

The former Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Tanko Mohammed, resigned on Monday, on health grounds and the crisis that affected the Apex Court of Nigeria, during his tenure.

It was gathered that since after his last medical trip to Dubia, the Chief Justice of Nigeria has not been himself.

Tanko has been battling some health challenges.

The Justices had accused the CJN Tanko Mohammed of sundry offences which high-handedness, running of the Apex Court like a one-man business among others.

In his stead, President Mohammadu Buhari sworn-in Justice Olukayode Agboola in a brief ceremony at Presidential Villa on Monday.
