Police Kill Driver Conveying Gunmen In Anambra

Security Operatives in Anambra’ State have gunned down a driver conveying armed men at Uli in Ihiala Local Government Area of the State.

The incident occured at about 4:45pm on Sunday.

The security agents recovered one Honda Odyssey salon car with reg nos. WER 221 ZS-(IMO) and charms in the process.

The Operatives also repelled an attack by the gunmen at Uli, along Onitsha/Owerri Road.

The gunmen were said to have driven against the traffic and started shooting sporadically as they approached the security personnel.

The Operatives swiftly engaged the armed men and demobilized their operational vehicle.

Some them escaped through the bush, while the driver was neutralized.

Spokesperson for the state police command DSP Ikenga Toochukwu in a statement said “Anambra State Police Operatives today (Sunday) 26/6/2022 at about 4:45pm gun down the driver conveying arm men in Uli, recover one Honda Odyssey salon car with reg nos. WER 221 ZS-IMO and Charm.”

“The Operatives at a nipping point along Onitsha/Owerri road, Uli repelled an attack by the gunmen. The gunmen applied one-way and started shooting sporadically, approaching the personnel at the nipping point.”

“The Operatives swiftly engage the arm men and demobilize their operational vehicle. While some them escape through the bush, the driver was neutralized. No lost of life on part of the police.”
