Police Denies Alleged Kidnap, Murder, In Galadimawa, Abuja

•••Says Its Baseless, Unfounded

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command, on Wednesday, described as baseless, and unfounded the reports of kidnap and murder of the victims kidnapped in the Galadimawa area of Abuja.

The police said the purported Kidnapping of 19 individuals and the reported killing of 12 in Galadimawa, Abuja, as circulated in recent news, are false after a thorough investigation by the FCT Police Command.

According to the Command, after a careful  investigation of the allegations, it was clearly established that the claims were false and misleading, showing an intention, either deliberately or not, to misguide and instill fear in the public.

The Police Public Relations Officer, FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement on Wednesday, titled: “ALLEGED KIDNAP, MURDER IN GALADIMA: FACTS ARE BASELESS, UNFOUNDED, INVESTIGATIONS REVEAL”, explained that the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba, has assured the residents of Galadimawa and indeed the entire FCT that the Command has deployed tactical and robust intelligence apparatus to ensure security of life and property.

The statement urged the Galadinmawa residents to remain vigilant warning those spreading fake and baseless reports to desist from doing so.

The CP stressed that this misinformation only serves to distort the prevailing peace and tranquility enjoyed by the residents of FCT. 

“The FCT Police Command remains steadfast in ensuring the safety and security of the public, and urge those spreading misleading information to team up with the Command to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum

“The CP urges members of the  public to promptly report distress calls and complaints through the following emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883. Additionally, the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB).” The statement said.
