…Anambra CP Orders Manhunt for People Harassing Widow in a Viral Video

The police in Anambra State said they have arrested one person in connection with the married woman rescued over allegation that she caused the death of her husband in Aguleri community, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state.
Elders and youths of the community had in a trending social media tripped the woman naked and led her round the town.
The action by the people was roundly condemned as an inhuman treatment as they people booed her and chanted songs as they led her round the village square.
The elders of the area had earlier laid the corpse of the man beside the woman as she squatted naked at a corner of a room where the man had breathed his last, taunting her of suffocating the man with rounds of sex.
Commissioner of police in the state , Mr. Echeng Echeng described the incident as barbaric and ordered for thorough study of the video and to identify all the suspects with a view to bringing them to book.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement, in Awka the state caoital, on Sunday, said one suspect had been arrested in connection with the act.
He said the Command is studying the video aimed at identifyinv other suspects and to bring them to book.
According to the statement, “The Anambra State Police Operatives have today (Saturday) 12/3/2022 at about 12:07pm rescued a female victim from an angry mob in Aguleri. The rescue, was as a result of a report seen trending video of where a lady was publicly molested and assaulted on an alleged incident of causing the death of her late husband.”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng while describing the act as barbaric, stated that one suspect is already in custody.
He immediate study of the video with the aim to identify the suspects, arrest and bring them to book.
Further information reveals that the deceased had already been buried before the video started trending. The victim was rescued and she is currently receiving medical care in the hospital.
One of the people harassing the woman in the video had alledged that the she killed her husband, who was preparing to buried his mother on April 28, 2022, with marathon sexual intercourse.
