News Investigators/ The Plateau Government has imposed a 48-hour curfew on Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Joyce Ramnap, the Commissioner for Information and Communications in the state, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Jos.
Mrs Ramnap said that the move followed a Sunday night attack by gunmen on Angwan Rukuba community of the area.
The attack, she said claimed some lives and left others injured.
”The Plateau Government in conjunction with the security agencies have imposed a 48-hour curfew within Jos-North LGA.
”The curfew will run from midnight of Sunday, March 29 to Wednesday, April 1,”she said.
The commissioner, who condemned the unprovoked attack on innocent citizens, callled on residents of the area to be calm and law abiding.
She assured the people that the government and security agencies have adopted measures to forestall future occurrence and arrest perpetrators.
