The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) governorship candidate in Plateau State in the last elections, Senator Gyang Pwajok has alleged that the governorship election result declared by Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) is forged against wishes of people of the state.
Pwajok who made this known while speaking with newsmen in Abuja added that some party members worked against the party during the governorship election.
“Going to tribunal is a step in the right direction, tribunal are set to address irregularities, the irregularities was massive, my contention is that I won the election, that is the key aspect of it, there are numbers of irregularities the announcement did not reflect the state of public opinion,” he added.
He also faulted the distribution Permanent Voters Card(PVC) in the state which he said was characterized by irregularities adding many of his family members were unable to vote because they did not collect their PVC.
Pwajok said that many people in the state are still surprised that how can the party lost governorship election in the state despite winning all senatorial seats, all state House of Assemblies and clear almost all House of Representatives living only two seats for All Progress Congress(APC).
“I want to say is that we all know the controversy that greeted by nomination , contested with others and a lot of them never accepted the outcome of the primary election. Party members felt that they will do things otherwise against the party.
“The distribution of PVC was characterized by all manner of issues, there people could not get their PVC for me an individual my wife could not vote because she did have PVC, my brother could not vote because he did have PVC.
“We believe strong that there are questions that needed to be answered.
“We controlled the majority in Plateau state, the party has three senators, all seats of state House Assembly are won by PDP, House of Representatives only two were won by All Progressive Congress(APC) that is why there is question that why PDP cannot win governorship in Plateau state even the citizens on the ground are asking questions,” He said.
