The agents of the People’s Democratic Party, the Labour Party and nine other parties have called for the cancellation of the Presidential election.
The opposition parties staged a walk out in protest after prevailing on the Chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, without success to halt the ongoing announcement of the Presidential election results.
Senator Dino Melaye of the PDP and Umar Farouq Ibrahim of the Labour Party and others told journalists that the INEC Chairman colluded with the APC to commit electoral fraud.
Dino Melaye said that his party decided to walk out of the hall because Yakubu’s had shown that the electoral umpire is compromised.
He said that Yakubu’s position that they should wait till the end of the process was unacceptable to his party.
He said, “We are not here to rubber stamp the fraud between the Inec and the APC.
“The INEC Chairman is saying we should wait for the process to be concluded. We cannot wait because once the process is concluded, there is nothing anybody would do.
“INEC is compromised, we have record of where election were not held yet there are results. We have record of where BVAS was not used, they are not uploading results.
“We demand that the system is compromised, Inec is compromised and the entire process is cancelled.” He said
Speaking also, Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the National Secretary of the Labour Party and the party’s agent described the conduct of the INEC chairman and the commission as unfortunate.
He said that Yakubu wants the parties to accept doctored results which was unacceptable.
He said, “It is very unfortunate, we have made our observations to the National chairman of INEC. He wants us to accept the doctored result.
“You must note that the INEC server has gone down since Saturday. INEC has claimed that they are having a glitch.
We are accusing Inec for not listening to Nigerians. We believe in BVAS, but the BVAS has not been used.”
