There are strong indication the President Goodluck Jonathan may have finally acceded to request for a meeting by the seven warring governors of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Reliably party sources said the meeting would take place today at the presidential villa Abuja saying, “the president has always shown himself as a father figure with listening ears.”
The source suggested the latest move by the presidency may not be unconnected with intervention by some elder Statesmen including a former president “who lately have been mounting pressure on President Jonathan to engage the aggrieved governors. “
It would be recalled that the G-7 governors met last week with former president Olusegun Obasanjo, former Head Of Interim Government, Chief Earnest Shonekan and Former Defence Minister, retired General Theophilus Danjuma separately in Abeokuta and Lagos respectively to crave their intervention in the raging crisis within the ruling party.
