Oyo APC Unveils Alli, 49 Other Candidates For 2027 Elections

News Investigators/ The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Friday, formally unveiled its governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sen. Sharafadeen Alli was formally unveiled as the party’s governorship candidate.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Oyo State APC Secretariat in Ibadan, Mr Alli expressed gratitude to the Almighty, President Bola Tinubu, party leaders and members for considering him as the party’s standard-bearer.

Mr Alli, who currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate, said that no one should be regarded as opponents, but as brothers and critical stakeholders in the collective struggle for the party’s victory.

He stressed the need for unity among members, warning against division and internal disagreements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said that a united APC would present a stronger front and improve the party’s chances of electoral victory across Oyo state.

The senator also promised an inclusive administration if elected governor, with a pledge to prioritise education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors that would positively impact residents across all parts of the state.

The party also unveiled Hon. Soji Adedeji as the deputy governorship candidate.

For the Senate, the APC presented Sen. Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central, Mrs Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North and Rep. Aderemi Oseni for Oyo South.

The 14 House of Representatives candidates unveiled include: Hon. Akeem Adeyemi – Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West; Wasiu Olafisoye – Akinyele/Lagelu; Tajudeen Kareem – Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West; and Akinola Alabi – Egbeda/Ona-Ara.

Others are: Umar Alao-Arisekola for Ibadan North; Olatunji Olaiya for Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East; Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo for Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West; Sarafadeen Olaoniye for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North; and Yusuf Osuolale for Ibarapa East/Ido.

Also unveiled were: Bosun Oladele for Irepo/Olorunsogo/Orelope; Tolulope Sadipe for Oluyole, Saheed Adejare for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa; Olamiju Alao-Akala for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Orire; and Olusegun Odebunmi for Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere.

For the State House of Assembly, the party presented candidates across the 32 constituencies, including: Oyewole Abiola for Afijio, Ajao Olugbenga for Akinyele I, Owoade Jelili for Akinyele II, Ijadunola Olushina for Atiba and Olumide Bernard for Egbeda.

Other candidates include: Adeyemi Olaide, Aderibigbe Abiodun, Razak Adekunle, Adepoju Steve, Jimoh Tesleem, Hamzat Wasiu, Adegoke Warith, Tolani Adigun, Okunola Taiwo, Ogunlade Babatunde, Tajudeen Amoo, Adeleke Taiwo and Salami Waliu.

The remaining candidates unveiled were: Akande Babatunde, Salami Rasheed, Azeez Akintola, Giwa Olawale, Shittu Abdulfatai, Adegoke Ayodeji, Lawal Akeem, Funmilola Obisesan, Jimoh Luqman, Bamigboye Jacob, Ajeigbe Abiodun, Shittu Ibrahim, Aliu Tajudeen Adetunji and Jesutoye Olayinka.

Earlier, the Oyo APC Chairman, Chief Adeyemo Alake, urged party leaders, stakeholders and members to close ranks and work collectively for the success of the party.

He said that the candidates presented at the ceremony had been affirmed by the party as its flag bearers for the 2027 general elections.

The event was attended by the former Deputy Governor, Taofeek Arapaja; Chief Oluwakemi Alao-Akala; former Oyo North Senator, Sen. Hosea Agboola; state executive members, party chairmen from 33 local government areas, other party leaders, members and supporters.
