Ondo State Government on Friday denied defection of seven Commissioners with Deputy Governor, Ali Olanusi to All Progressive Congress(APC) saying that defection of the Deputy Governor is a welcome development.
The Deputy Governor had on Thursday announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to All Progressive Congress(APC), with two dailies reporting that he left with seven commissioners.
But, the Commissioner of Information in Ondo state, Mr. Kayode Akinmade who spoke via phone, said no commissioner in Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s cabinet defect to All Progressive Congress(APC) as reported.
According to him, the defection of the deputy governor to APC is a welcome development, adding that the government was surprise at his exit.
“Baba’s exit is a welcome development, or what else can l say. He has been so pampered by this government, so if he is still not satisfied, we can only wish him luck,” he said.
“But l can tell you that there is no any commissioner that defects to APC with deputy governor,” Akinmade added.
