AKURE/By Alaba Ajibade – The Ondo state Government has dismissed as untrue accusation by the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress in the state, Abayomi Adesanya that it was planning to give out money to political office holders as parting gifts.
Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade while reacting to the accusation described Adesanya as an outsider even in his party who wants to get attention by concocting lies against the outgoing government.
Mr. Akinmade said “no doubt, the overwhelming achievements of the Mimiko led administration would continue to intimidate some naysayers in the APC whose ulterior motive is to look for way of currying favour in order to secure appointment.
The Commissioner said “this will continue to baffle them especially as projected by the series of Projects Commissioning going on across the state,” adding however “that the best way for the APC not to betray the confidence of the people is to maintain the set standard of the outgoing government.
Describing the allegation as petty and lacking in substance, the Information Commissioner who described Mr. Adesanya as “self-appointed APC spokesperson as an epitome of lies” said the allegation exposed him as one who lacks understanding of governance and bureaucratic process.
“It is unfortunate that a government that is yet to offset the legitimate severance allowances and salaries of its political appointees could be accused of planning to give out parting gifts to the tune of N500m ”
Warning Mr. Adesanya “to desist from churning out falsehood to get attention, Mr. Akinmade advised the APC to call the so-called spokesman to order before he sets the party ablaze with lies as he would have no alternative to practice his lies than within the party when Mimiko won’t be there to lie against.”
