By Sadiq Umar – The Appeal Court has suspended indefinitely all pending matters in the ongoing legal battle to determine the authentic governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 26 elections.
In his ruling on Friday, Justice Ibrahim Salauwa, leading a panel of three Justices said the court adjourned sine die, pending the decision of the Supreme Court on the applications filed by the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party.
Mr. Salauwa who had earlier reserved ruling on the matter of leadership between Ahmed Makarfi and Modu Sheriff factions, said the court will wait for the decision of the apex court for what it worth.
“We will await the decision of the Supreme Court in all the processes; no matter what they are worth.
“We hereby rule that this matter and other matters awaiting decision by this court are hereby adjourned sine-die pending the decision of the apex court,” said Mr. Salauwa.
The appellate court had planned deciding on the authentic candidate to represent the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.
