OIL THEFT: MILITARY DESTROYS VESSEL ARRESTED BY TOMPOLO’ SECURITY OUTFIT

A combined team of soldiers and naval personnel has set ablaze a vessel named MT Deima with International Maritime Organisation (IMO) number 7210525.

The vessel was arrested by Tantita Security Services Limited, belonging to High Chief Government Tompolo, on October 10 while loading illegal crude oil, at the Escravos Creeks, Warri Delta State.

The Network gathered that operatives of Tantita Security Services Limited arrested the vessel with seven crew members on October 6, 2022 while loading stolen crude oil.

The vessel had lifted about 650 cubic meters when the operatives of the private security outfit caught the villains.

The Captain of the vessel Temple Manasseh who confessed that the vessel was carrying stolen crude, said that some boys hijacked his vessel for the sabotage action.

“I was arrested in Escravos by Tompolo boys but the alleged stolen crude oil was not loaded by me. My vessel was hijacked by some boys who forced the loaded crude into my ship. I don’t know the hijackers at all.

“But when Tompolo security operatives stormed the scene, they all ran away and abandoned their loading operation which had lasted about two and a half hours.” Manasseh said

As a fallout of his confession, the military set the vessel on fire around 3pm on Monday.

The Marine Intelligence Consultant for Tantita Security Services, Captain Warredi Enisuoh, told journalists that the firm entrusted with the responsibility of fighting the scourge of oil theft, said that the exercise was “monitored the space via satellite”.

He said that the arrest has sent out the strong signal that those whose business is stealing the nation’s oil would either desist or are arrested.

He stressed that Tantita
Security Services recorded the breakthrough in collaboration with Operation Delta Safe.
