Obiano’s Wife, Aguleri Community Condemn Parading of Naked Woman Alleged  to Have Killed Hubby With Marathon Sex

By John Ugo, Awka

The Aguleri country home of the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and his wife, Ebelechukeu, have condemned in strong terms the striping and parading of a woman alleged to have killed her sex with marathon sex.

Mrs Obiano lamented that the woman whose naked video went viral on Sunday, was treated with extreme and unacceptable ignominy.

Mrs Obiano’s comments were contained in a statement by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Mr. Emeka Ozumba, on Sunday.

She expressed shock that the victim was not just  accused of adultery publicly but was stripped naked and paraded round the town.

She described the action of those behind the cruel action as barbaric and disgusting.

The Governor’s wife lamented that the action was a direct assault on the shared values of the society and the state government’s efforts  geared towards promoting the value and dignity of women in the last eight years.

“My attention was drawn to a video clip containing graphic images of a woman subjected to ignominious treatment of the worst kind. She was not only publicly condemned over alleged adultery, but paraded stark naked on the streets.

“ I must say that the conduct of the persons who took laws into their hands to debase the hapless woman was barbaric and disgusting”.

“How could anyone have contrived to subject a fellow human being to such debasing treatment in this 21st century beats my imagination.

“ I am particularly unhappy because it is a clear betrayal and an affront on the values  of our society and a demarketing of the efforts we made in the last eight years to promote the dignity and respect for our women.”

The First Lady who has declared her intention to contest for the position of senator said that she has called the attention of the relevant security agencies to investigate the matter and bring those behind the primitive and dastardly assault on the dignity of the woman, to justice.

Meanwhile, the President-General of Aguleri Town Union, Chief Barr. Hipo Chibuzor Onwuegbuke, has said that parading the widow of a dead man naked in the street was never part of the tradition of the people.

He said that the community would use the video to trace all those involved in the reprehensible act against the woman,

According to him, the outrageous  act has been reported to Otuocha Police Station and the woman in question has appeared before the police.“We are going to use that video to arrest all those involved in this inhumane act. All the women in the video will be arrested and they will tell the police what really happened.
“So the true story has not been heard from the horse’s mouth. I know it was an organized crime to malign the woman but they didn’t know it would boomerang into such magnitude as to affect the image of the town.
“The elder brother to the woman’s husband who masterminded everything is now in the police custody. Even a murderer has not been humiliated that way.
“So we are taking it very serious. The Igwe-in-council and  Ojiana-Ndichie  will meet to ascertain the root cause of the matter and the culprits will be paid in their own coin.
“That has never been our custom and it will never be. It was an orchestrated plot to malign the woman and her family occasioned by the relations of the husband of the woman. How can a woman kill her own husband?”
Meanwhile, the  police in Anambra State said they have arrested one person in connection disturbing incident.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement, in Awka , on Sunday, that one suspect have been arrested in connection with the act.
Investigation revealed that the arrested suspect is the elder brother of the late husband of the widow. He is suspected to be the chief mastermind.
