News Investigators/ In what seems like another desperate plot to embarrass his embattled deputy, Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki has reallocated the officially designated office of the deputy governor to an adhoc government agency.

Mr Obaseki and Philip Shaibu have been embroiled in crisis over the latter’s ambition to contest the next governorship election in Edo state.

In a leaked memo dated 18th September, 2023, Mr Obaseki had directed the Secretary to the State Government Osarodion Ogie to immediately allocate the office building of the Deputy Governor to the Trustees of the Alaghodaro Summit as their Secretariat.

The Chairman of the adhic body through the Secretary had written to the Governor for a permanent Secretariat building to aid planning and logistics for the 2023 Alaghodaro Summit.

According to the leaked memo, the identified office space closest to the venue of the summit is that hitherto occupied by Mr Shaibu, and should be allocated to the Board of Trustees of the Alaghodaro Summit with immediate effect.

The Summit which is expected to take place in the second week of November this year would attract potential investors from different parts of Nigeria.

Recalled that Mr Shaibu was denied access to his office earlier this week after being locked out without a notice.

The government however claimed Mr. Shaibu had been relocated to another building.
