•••Says It Has Overwhelmed Govt
Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Sunday lamented that the present security challenges being witnessed in the country has overwhelmed the ruling All Progressives Congress m-led government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obasannjo stated this in his reaction to last week’s attack on a passenger train travelling from Abuja to Kaduna in which several persons were killed and 21 others declared missing.
He noted that going by the situation Nigerians are no longer safe anywhere.
He spoke at his Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, when he received one of the Presidential aspirants under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Ugochukwu Williams, and his campaign team.
According to the former President, the citizens are not safe while travelling in their vehicles, on the train, aircraft or through the waterways, pointing out that the development is very precarious.
He urged all to come together to put up a concerted fight against insecurity in the country.
He said Nigerians must not allow the situation to overwhelm the nation.
