News Investigators/ The National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Iyiola Omisore has formally stepped down from office to pave way for a new party scribe.
Mr. Omisore’s resignation is coming on the heels of the decision National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu who resigned on Sunday evening.
Omisore joined the emergence meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC), Monday to formalise his resignation.
The resignation was officially announced as the NWC of the APC prepared to commence its critical meeting scheduled for 12 noon on Monday.
With his exit, the Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter (Plateau State), has immediately assume office as Acting National Secretary.
Meanwhile the Deputy National Chairman (North), Sen. Abubakar Kyari (Borno State) has also taken over as Acting Chairman following Senator Adamu’s exit.
Unconfirmed reports said both men resigned from the party’s positions upon advice by President Bola Tinubu.
There are strong indications, however, that the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings of the party have been fixed for Tuesday July 18 and Wednesday July 19 respectively.
