News Investigators/ Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), has launched a medical outreach in Jalingo Local Government Area (LGA) of Taraba.
Represented by Nura Dantsoho on Saturday in Jalingo, Dantsoho said that the outreach was one of the components of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the NPA.
He said that the outreach was aimed at providing medical succor to the vulnerable and less privileged.
He said that the intervention would cover HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Diabetes, Hypertension, Malaria, Typhoid, Tuberculosis among others.
The managing director gave assurance that qualified doctors and other Health professioners were mobilised for the task.
Mr Dantsoho also promised to take the outreach to all local government areas of the state, assuring that the medical consumables were adequate to provide the assistance to the people.
Earlier, Dr Aminu Jauro, Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, commended Dantsoho for providing such an assistance to the people, describing the gesture as first of it kind in the history of the local government.
Hajia Saadatu Ibrahimovic, one of the beneficiaries, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said that the gesture was unpresidented and so impactful to humanity
Also, Mr Joseph Ayuba, another beneficiary commended Dantsoho for touching the lives of the indigents through medical assistance.
NAN reports that many residents of Jalingo converged to receive free medical services as assorted drugs, testing equipment among others were provided.
