Northern Governors Forum: Bindow Laments Alarming Rate Of Insecurity In North

By Tom Garba, Yola – The governor of Adamawa state, Senator Mohammed Bindow Jibrilla, has expressed worry at the growing rate of insecurity in the northern, vowing to take drastic measure to ensure security of lives and property in the region.

Governor Bindow was part of the nineteen Northern State Governors present at the Northern States Governors’ Forum meeting at the Hassan Usman Katsina House Kaduna.

The Governors lamented the alarming rate of insecurity in the region and resolved to ensure protection of lives and property of citizens at all levels as a constitutional responsibility.

The meeting which discussed the security challenges in the Northern region, it also condemned the recent bomb blast that occurred at the IDPs camp in Yola.

Decisions were also taken to reposition the New Nigeria Development Company so as to improve on the economic situation of the Northern region.

The Governors further agreed to resuscitate The New Nigeria Newspapers Limited, the secretaries to the Northern state Governments were asked to carry out an in-depth study of the company and present a report for consideration at the next meeting of the forum.

At the end of the meeting, Adamawa State Governor, Senator Muhammed Umar Jibrilla said the interest of the Northern Governors is to see that the people of the region live a more prosperous life.
