The health of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nmamdi Kanu, is deteriorating in the custody of the Department of the State Security, DSS.
Emmanuel Kanu, brother of the leader (IPOB), has raised the alarm over the pro Biafra group leader’s health, stressing that if Kanu dies in detention, Department of State Service (DSS), would be held responsible.
Emmanuel stated this in a telephone chat, with newsmen after he visited his brother on Monday at the DSS facility in Abuja.
The IPOB leader has been in the DSS for more than a year.
According to Emmanuel, what he saw of his brother’s health gave him anything but joy.
“I visited my brother and the leader of the IPOB Nmamdi Kanu yesterday at the DSS facility in Abuja where he is being detained and what I saw did not give me joy”. He stated.
According to him, the IPOB leader has been having severe stomach ache all these while he has been in detention and needs to be properly examined by a specialist
He frowned at the speed of the detoriating health of his brother adding that it was an unfortunate situation that Kanu would be sick to that level and the DSS would not allow his medical doctors to examine him.
“My brother is having serious stomach problem where he is being detained and he needs his specialist doctors to examine him”, Emmanuel said.
According to him every efforts of the family to get Nmamdi Kanu’s doctors examine him, has been frustrated by the DSS.
He appealed to all people of goodwill and the international community to intervene and pressure the Nigerian Government to prevail on the DSS to allow his brother be examined by his doctors.
