The man Elisha Dubi was arrested following an intelligence report of an arms dealer in Numan, Adamawa State.

Gboko Tsekaa, Squadron Leader of Nigerian Air Force base in Yola, who is also the Group Public Relations Officer at the base dismissed speculations that Mr. Dubi was abducted.

Speaking in Yola at the weekend, Tsekaa said Dubi was arrested as a result of arms deals and illegal possession of a missing FN Rifle in his house in Numan,Numan LGA of Adamawa state.

He faulted the widely spread rumors in Adamawa that Elisha was kidnapped by some unidentified Air Force men to an undisclosed destination.

According to him, through a joint operation with other security agencies, the arrested man was found to be in possession of a missing Nigerian Air Force FN Rifle. He further explained that the weapon was stolen and allegedly sold to Dubi in Numan.

“We had an intelligence report of an arms dealer in Numan who it was allegedly said purchased the missing riffle. The NAF swiftly went into action in conjunction with members of the State Security Services and civil police to arrest the man,” he said

“The GPRO further disclosed that the arrested arms dealer is in the custody of the Nigerian Air Force and undergoing further interrogation. “He is safe and sound”, Tsekaa added.
