News Investigators/ The Niger South Students Leadership Forum has honoured a renowned legal luminary and senatorial aspirant for Niger South, Mohammed Ndarani, SAN, with the Students Support Award in recognition of his exceptional commitment to supporting students’ academic, personal and professional growth.
Presenting the award in Bida, the Senate President of the National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS), Niger South Zone, Comrade Umaru Sanda Lakpene Bida, said the honour was in appreciation of Ndarani’s consistent efforts toward empowering students and creating opportunities that enhance their chances of success.
He noted that the legal icon’s interventions had positively impacted many students across the zone, describing him as a shining example of leadership and inspiration to the student community.
“Your tireless efforts to empower students and provide them with opportunities for success have made a significant impact. We celebrate your dedication to the well-being and development of students in Niger South,” he said.
Lakpene particularly commended Ndarani SAN for his recent donation of N100 million to students and Women Empowerment in Niger South aimed at easing financial difficulty, students’ academic pursuits, and supporting their educational development.
He said the gesture had provided relief to many students and their families, especially those from less privileged backgrounds struggling to finance their education.
The student leader therefore urged other well-to-do individuals in society to emulate Ndarani’s generosity and philanthropic gestures in order to ease the burden on parents of indigent students.
The award, presented on behalf of the students’ forum, was received by Engr. Mohammed Dagachi Etsugaie, the Director General of the Ndarani SAN Senatorial Organisation (NDASSO), in Bida.
Responding, Dagachi Etsugaie expressed appreciation to the Niger South Students Leadership Forum for the recognition, noting that the honour would further encourage Ndarani SAN to intensify his efforts in supporting students and young people.
He assured the students that the legal luminary remained committed to pursuing policies and opportunities that would create employment and empower the younger generation as a matter of citizen engagement and responsibility.
The Director General also advised students to recognise their strength as a critical force in shaping the political future of society, urging them to remain active and responsible throughout the democratic value chain and processes to increase the development fortunes of their communities.
According to him, credible leadership and good governance are essential ingredients for development, growth, and stability in any society. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen by chance but through the collective participatory efforts of the people.
“If we do not have good people in leadership positions, we will not have good government. Without good government, there will be no development, and without development, growth will remain elusive,” he said.
Dagachi Etsugaie stressed that unemployment and lack of development often create conditions that breed insecurity and instability, adding that the solution lies in electing credible leaders through transparent and fair electoral processes.
The Director General, who is also President General of CAGRAT therefore encouraged students and young people to be conscious of their collective power in shaping governance by supporting credible leaders capable of delivering development and opportunities for the people. Adding that ” people representative democracy is for the people and must not be abandoned by the people”.
He reaffirmed Ndarani SAN’s commitment to championing policies that would expand employment opportunities and promote sustainable development for the benefit of the present and successive generations.
The Director General rounded up his remarks by persuasively canvassing for students’ support for Ndarani SAN’s Senatorial aspiration that would enable him to translate his transformational vision for Niger South into reality.
