Niger Delta Warlord, Charles Okah Escapes From Prison?

Mr. Okah was said to have escaped after a jail break from the maximum prison at Kuje in Abuja where he has since been remanded.

The Niger Delta warlord who is being held at the Prisons, has been facing terrorism trial for allegedly masterminding bomb attack, allegedly targeted at former President Goodluck Jonathan, during October 1, 2010 Nigeria’s Independent anniversary, at Eagle Square, FCT Abuja.

The suspect was said to have escaped with other inmates and now at large.

He was earlier reported to have attempted suicide inside the prison. At a different time, Mr. Okah was reported dead to have died only to resurface thereafter.

Meanwhile, authorities of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) have faulted the report.

Its Spokesman Francis Enobore, who told an Abuja based online newspaper on Saturday that Mr. Okah was at Kuje prisons “hale and hearty”

NPS Publicist yet confirmed jail break incident, despite the denial.
