By Nuel Suji – The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, may have been given the second chance for screening and possible confirmation, even as he is scheduled to appear at the Senate tomorrow.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki announced this at the resumed plenary of the Senate Tuesday.
Mr. Saraki did not give detail of correspondent with the Presidency on the matter.
Mr. Magu had earlier been screened but was rejected by Senators who alleged that the acting EFCC boss was involved in corruption in a correspondent to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Specifically, the Senate cited a security report by the Department of State Security Services which purportedly accused Mr. Magu of a shady deal regarding his rent.
The same security report has been controverted suggesting that Mr. Magu may have been given the second chance to be confirmed as substantive chairman of EFCC.
