NDA Vows To Apprehend Attackers, Rescue Officer

News Investigators/ The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has vowed to rescue its abducted officer by unknown gunmen suspected to be terrorists, confirming the news of an early morning attack on the institution.

NDA located in Afaka area of Kaduna State came under heavy attack by armed men who kill two personnels and abducted an army major.

In a statement released by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Bashir Muhd Jajira, a major, on Monday, NDA said a joint military rescue efforts has begun to secure the release of the kidnapped officer.

“The security architecture of the Nigerian Defence Academy was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka. During the unfortunate incident, we lost two personnel and one was abducted,” Jajira said in a statement.

“The Academy in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.

“The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that this unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued,” the statement added.
