News Investigators/ The management and staff of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has celebrated the retirement of Manga Amusa, former Head of the Marketing Department Abuja, commending his contributions to the agency’s growth and marketing operations.
They spoke at a send-off ceremony organised in his honour at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
The Director of Marketing, Mrs Hadiza Aliyu, commended Mr Amusa for his commitment and years of service to the agency.
She described him as a dependable colleague who contributed greatly to the growth of the department.
“It is good that I met and worked with you. Today, we celebrate and congratulate you on this milestone.
“You have done your part, and now you are moving on while some of us are still waiting for our own time.
“I pray that the Almighty will guide and protect you as you take on new pursuits after NAN,” she said.
Also speaking, the Editor-in-Chief of NAN, Mr Mufutau Ojo, described Mr Amusa as a consummate professional whose experience and counsel would be greatly missed.
“I appreciate his friendship. He has taught me many things, and I have benefited from his wealth of experience, candid advice and objective views.
“One thing nobody can deny is that he is a complete professional.
“The agency will miss you. As you have always done, remain firm in what you believe in, and may the good Lord continue to order your steps as you begin this new journey,” he said.
Mr Ismail Abdulaziz, Director of Special Duties and Head of Multimedia, credited Amusa with helping to transform NAN’s marketing operations through innovation and collaboration.
“Since my engagement with the Marketing Department, we have shared ideas and worked together to change the landscape of marketing in NAN.
“We introduced new initiatives and elevated marketing to a new level.
“I wish that the innovations we introduced into the agency will continue to serve you well in your future endeavours, whether in business or politics,” he said.
Responding, Mr Amusa expressed gratitude to NAN management and staff for the opportunities and support he received throughout his career.
He also appreciated colleagues who supported him at various stages of his service, noting that teamwork played a key role in his achievements.
“I have always wondered what a day like this would be like for me. I tell people that I am lucky because NAN brought out the best in me.
“It revealed abilities I never knew I possessed.
“I also received some of the greatest blessings of my life in NAN, and the environment worked in my favour.
“I thank you all for your prayers, support and goodwill.
“As you have wished me well today, may God do the same for each and every one of you,” he said.
