Mysterious thunder Hits Jootar Community in Benue, Kills Catholic Priest

A mysterious thunder, on Thursday, reportedly hit Jootar community in Ukum local government area of Benue State, killing a catholic priest identified as Rev. Fr. Faustinus Ukenongo Gundu.

Our correspondent gathered that, Father Gundu, popularly known as “albino” , was struck by lightning and died on the spot while preparing for mass at his church in Jootar Mbaterem in Mbayenge Ward of Ukum Local Government Area.

It was further gathered that until his sudden demised, late Father Gundu was  the Parish Priest in charge of St. Joseph Catholic Church Jootar.

Scores of parishioners and other mourners flooded the comment sections of posts about the incident with farewell notes to the Catholic priest.

Benue State Command Police Public Relations(PPRO), SP Sewuese Anene confirmed  the incident in a text message  to our correspondent.

SP Anene disclosed that the command is aware of the situation, adding that men of the command had since, cordoned off the area.
