News Investigators/ MultiChoice, operator of DStv and GOtv, has unveiled plans to introduce refreshed subscription packages to give customers more choice, value and control over their viewing experience.
The company disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, noting that more details on the refreshed packages would be announced in the coming weeks.
DStv said the new packages would be tailored to customers’ viewing preferences and the kind of entertainment they enjoy.
It said subscribers would also enjoy an enhanced movie experience from Sept. 17 with the launch of three refreshed M-Net Movies channels: M-Net Movies+, M-Net Movies Stars and M-Net Movies Legends.
The company said the new movie offering followed feedback from viewers who wanted fewer repeats, more fresh titles and a clearer viewing experience.
It explained that the previous four movie channels had been consolidated into three differentiated destinations.
It said M-Net Movies+ would focus on the latest blockbuster releases from major international and local studios, M-Net Movies Stars would offer a mix of blockbuster hits and timeless favourites across genres, while M-Net Movies Legends would combine classic favourites with newer titles.
The company said subscribers on lower DStv packages would now have access to movies up to six months earlier than previously available.
MultiChoice added that two new channels, SuperSport Kick-Off and France 24, would also join the DStv line-up.
It noted that SuperSport Kick-Off would feature a selection of football content, while France 24 would provide international news, analysis and dedicated coverage of African news and current affairs.
The company said the changes reflected its commitment to providing customers across Africa with more choice, value and a simpler entertainment experience.
