MILITARY, DSS, ARREST SUSPECTED TERRORISTS IN MILITARY UNIFORM IN LAGOS

A combined team of the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigerian Army’s 81 Division have arrested a suspected terrorist in military uniform in Lagos State.

Also arrested were those who supplied the terrorists with military camouflage and other accoutrements.

It was gathered that the suspects, adorning military camouflage and other accoutrements were in Lagos State for surveillance on some areas in Lagos before their planned attacks.

However, luck ran out of them when the operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigerian Army’s 81 Division, apprehended them.

The outgoing General Officer, 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Umar Musa, revealed this on Tuesday, during the handover ceremony.

He disçlosed that the Division arrested many impersonators while he was GOC 81 Division.

Although, Musa didn’t specifically mentioned that they were terrorists but confirmed that the person who supplied the military kits to the arrested persons had been apprehended and would face the music.

Speaking on the issue with Journalists in an interview at the 81 Division Headquarters in Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, Maj. Gen. Umar Musa, confirmed that many arrests were made, stressing that they were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force.

“I can’t remember how many impersonators we have arrested. But we still have quite a large number of them

“When we make arrests we hand them over to the Nigeria Police to do further investigation and prosecute them because we don’t have the power to prosecute,” Maj. Gen. Umar Musa, stated.
