KUJE ATTACK: NDLEA RE-ARRESTS WANTED TERRORIST WITH DRUGS IN ABUJA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Monday stated that it’s operatives have apprehended a runaway terrorist inmate, one Suleiman Sidi, as he was trying to escape to Borno State.

The wanted terrorist was among those who escaped from the Kuje prison fortnight ago, during the invasion of the Correctional Centre where 64 Boko Haram terrorists and 600 other criminals escaped from the facility.

Director of Publicity and Strategy, Femi Babafemi, in a statement said the alleged wanted terrorist, Sidi was arrested in the early hours of Monday in Abuja.

According to him, Sidi was picked up at the Area 1 motor park while attempting to board a commercial vehicle to Maiduguri, Borno State.

The statement also said on arrest, he was searched by NDLEA operatives adding that some wraps of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa was found on him.

The Network gathered that during interrogation, the alleged terrorist member confessed that he came out of the Medium Security Correctional Centre in Kuje.

According to the statement, Sidi was facing charges bordering on terrorism and robbery.

“NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd) has directed his transfer to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).” The statement said.
