King Charles III Will Be Crowned Today

(News investigators) King Charles III will be crowned today at Westminster Abbey in London. Here is the schedule of activities.

At 7am (Nigerian time), the doors of Westminster Abbey will be opened to the congregation. Viewing centres on the streets of London will also be opened.

At 9am, troops from all 4 services will begin to line the streets (route lining) and the congregation will be seated in the Abbey.

At 9:45am the Sovereign’s Escort will arrive Buckingham Palace.

At 10:20am the Royal Procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey will begin. King Charles and Queen Camilla will be escorted by calvary made up of troops from the Household Division (the Sovereign’s Escort). Troops lining the streets will render royal salutes to the King and Queen.

10:35am. Members of the Royal Family will arrive Westminster Abbey.

10:53am. The Royal Procession will arrive Westminster Abbey. The bells of the Abbey will be rung as the King and Queen arrive.

11am. The two hour coronation service will begin.

Noon. King Charles will be crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Gun salutes will be fired from the Tower of London. The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery will also fire gun salutes from other parts of London.

1pm: The Royal Procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace will begin. 

1:45: The Royal Procession will arrive Buckingham Palace. King Charles and Queen Camilla will receive a royal salute from members of the Armed Forces and then join other members of the Royal Family to greet the crowd outside from the balcony of the Palace.

2:30: There will be a flypast of modern and historic Royal Air Force aircraft over Buckingham Palace. Members of the Royal Family will watch the flypast from the balcony.
