Kidnappers Storm Ministry Of Defence Staff Estate Lugbe, Abduct Two Persons

News Investigators/ Daredevil kidnappers on Tuesday invaded an Estate Housing staff members of the Ministry of Defence in Pyakasa Area of Lugbe Abuja, abducting two persons.
Eyewitness said the kidnappers numbering more than 20 and armed with AK-47 stormed the Estate at about 12.05am.
“One of the security guard on duty said he first noticed movement from the back of the Estate, right in the darkness, he said he saw the cigarette lights of the kidnappers from the first floor of the unoccupied block where he was hiding,” the source who pleaded anonymity told News Investigators.
The armed bandits broke into two houses within the Terrance building through the front doors and took away two men.
“They broke through the back fence and started firing sporadically. One of the persons abducted was the secretary of the security committee of the Estate, Mr. Oloyede, a perfect gentleman. He is Yoruba by tribe,’ the source added.
The bandits, it was further learnt, arrived the estate barely 15minutes after the police on night patrol left the area.
“We tried to call them back when the kidnappers came but they did not answer us. It was shocking. The sound of the guns echoed like thunder, why the police did not come to our rescue, only God knows,” the visibly terrified source revealed further.
Some military personnel were seen patrolling the area when our reporter visited the place.
According to the source, there has not been any information about the abducted persons since Tuesday. “But we are still hoping they will call for ransom. Our concern is about the fate of our brothers that were taken away,” the source added.
Efforts to speak to the Police on the incident proved futile.
