Kebbi Govt To Build Mobile Police Base In Zuru

News Investigators/ Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has handed over a parcel of land to a contractor for the construction of a new Police Mobile Force Base in Zuru.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris-Zuru, disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

According to him, the brief ceremony was held at a strategic location in Zuru and performed by the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi-Mika’ilu, Sami Gomo III.

Mr Idris-Zuru said the land was received on behalf of the Kebbi Commissioner of Police by Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Abubakar Umar-Ambursa.

“The project fulfils Gov. Idris’s pledge during his recent visit to Zuru and follows his directive two weeks ago for security agencies to restrategise for a results-oriented security architecture across the state,” he said.

Speaking at the event, Emir Sanusi Sami Gomo III commended Gov. Idris for his commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.

He noted that while banditry affects many parts of Nigeria, the Kebbi Government had consistently provided vehicles, financial and logistics support to security agencies to effectively combat the menace.

“This mobile base will complement ongoing efforts by other security agencies to tackle armed banditry, kidnapping and other crimes in the seven local government areas of Kebbi South,” the emir said.

The governor’s aide also urged residents to continue supporting government programmes and to pray for divine intervention on security challenges.
