The agenda of the meeting which is currently going on at the Presidential Villa, Abuja is not yet clear.
Sources said it may not be unconnected with the efforts to secure the release of the Chibok school girls abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents since April 14 this year.
There are moves by the federal government to effect the release of the abducted Chibok school girls as part of its ongoing ceasefire negotiations with the Islamist insurgency group this week.
It is also yet unclear why the meeting is only with the PDP governors.
The ruling party had accused the Bring Back Our Girls Campaigner of being members of the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC), insisting that their campaign for the release of the girls has political colouration.
The source added that the president will further brief the PDP governors on his planned declaration of his ambition to seek re-election in the 2015 general elections.
