By Nuel Suji – A delegation of the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) on Monday commenced a 2 days’ reconciliation visit to the southeast and south south geopolitical zones of the country.

The governors who arrived first in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State capital met with Governor Nyesom Wike who assured them of the safety of the Hausa community in the state.

NGF’s Chairman and Governor of Borno State Kashim Shettima, who led the delegation acknowledged Mr. Wike efforts that doused tension arising from the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the state.

The delegation includes: Governors of Kastina, Sokoto, Kebbi and Plateau states namely; Aminu Masari, Aminu Tambuwal, Abubakar Bagudu and Simon Lalong.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with traditional rulers, political and religious leaders, and most importantly with their counterparts from Rivers, Abia and Imo states.

The meeting provides an avenue for the northern governors to give reassurance to their counterparts in the south on the safety of non-northerners living in the north.
