Twenty political parties have nominated candidates for the Osun State governorship election slated for August 9, 2014.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed this on Monday, stating that the total number of valid voters for the election is valid 1, 407, 222.
The electoral body gave the statistics, stating the number of male voters are 661,394 while the female voters are 745,828, representing 47% and 53% respectively.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC boss, Mr. Kayode Idowu, the number of registration Areas (Wards) in the state is 332 , number of polling units put at 3, 010 and number of voting points 3, 379 .
To ensure transparency, the Commission said it has accredited 29 domestic and international organisations to monitor the election.
