The Ijaw Youths Network has felicitated prominent Niger Delta son, Chief Denis Brutu Otuaro, as he bags a doctorate degree from the prestigious university of Benin.
The institution formally inducted and conferred a Doctorate Degree in Comparative Politics and Development Studies on Otuaro on Saturday.
A leader with an amazing passion for societal development and peace promotion, Otuaro is the Principal Consultant and Chief Executive Officer of Owelle Global Resources and other firms.
The IYN Coordinator, Frank Ebikabo and Federal Ebiaridor, Secretary, commended Chief Otuaro for his exemplary commitment to issues of serious concern to the Niger Delta and indeed Nigeria.
The IYN recalled Otuaro’s laudable antecedents and leadership style as a former President National Union of Izon-Ibe students Worldwide.
The frontline youth group noted that the award of the doctorate degree to Otuaro by the University of Benin only reinforced in clear terms his dedication to the use of the tool of education to further the frontiers of development in the society.
Ebikabo and Ebiaridor noted that Otuaro has been found worthy of productive association as a promoter of peace for governments and the
Multi National Oil firms due to his vast network and popularity in the Niger Delta.
The IYN leadership stated that the organization is not surprised that
Otuaro is a fellow of several highly respected bodies.
He is Fellow The United States Institute Of Peace, the Nigerian Political Science Association ( NPSA) and A Fellow, Chartered Institute Of Public Management, A Fellow Arbitration & Dispute Resolutions In Africa.
The youth group recalled that Otuaro’s unique leadership style and passion endeared him to successive administrations both at the state and federal levels where was at various times Special Assistant and Head of Conflict Management to both Delta state and the federal government.
“The Ijaw Youth Network finds it necessary to celebrate with one of our leaders, with sustained zeal and commitment to the development of our society, Chief Denis Otuaro.
“For those of us who know his antecedents and emphasis on education as the most portent tool for development, this award cannot be a surprise.
“We join all sons and daughters of the Niger Delta to felicitate Chief Otuaro as he is awarded a deserved PhD Comparative Politics and Development Studies by the University.
